Located on the Northumberland Shore of Nova Scotia, Pictou County consists of five major communities

The county also includes a large rural area consisting of many small communities. Many amenities are shared among the towns including hospitals,  banks,  and major shopping areas, most of which are located in New Glasgow, the largest of the towns.  Below is some general information about the county as a whole
